How GAMPEON ranks listings
This page describes what listings are ordered by in search and catalogue, and how much each factor weighs. It describes the code actually in use, not an intention.
1. What is shown at all
Selection comes before ranking. A listing appears only if it is active — neither sold, reserved nor removed — and the seller is neither suspended nor on holiday mode.
Your filters narrow it further: category (always including every subcategory), brand, condition, category attributes, price range and the text search. The text search splits your input into single words — each has to match, the order does not matter. It compares listing titles, category names and brands; umlauts and their transliteration count as the same thing ("zubehoer" finds "Zubehör"). Naming a category includes everything below it. Descriptions are not searched — nearly all of them end with the condition, so "good" would match half the shop.
Digital keys sold by GAMPEON itself appear only once that vertical is open. Until then you see listings from other users exclusively.
2. The three orders
You choose the order yourself. There are exactly three, and no further logic behind them.
Newest first (default): paid placements first, then by date descending, ties broken by the listing's address. This is the only order in which paid placement has any effect.
Price ascending: by price ascending, ties broken by the more recent listing.
Price descending: by price descending, ties broken by the more recent listing.
When you pick a price order, paid placement does not override it. That was different until 10 August 2026 and has been fixed.
3. What “date” means
For a listing by a user it is the moment the listing was created.
For a digital key sold by GAMPEON it is the game's release date, not the time of the catalogue sync. A key synced yesterday is therefore not a new listing. Where no release date is known, the entry falls to the end of the date order.
4. Paid placement
Sellers can promote a listing. Such a listing precedes the others in the default “newest first” order and carries the label “Sponsored” everywhere it appears.
Paid placement changes neither the price nor buyer protection, and it is not a judgement of quality. It affects only the position within that one order.
On the home page promoted listings sit in their own area labelled “Sponsored listings”, as soon as there are at least three of them.
5. What does NOT influence the order
No role is played by: clicks, views, wishlist entries, seller ratings, revenue or the age of an account, fees beyond the disclosed paid placement, and anything you looked at before.
There is no personalisation. Two people with the same filters see the same order.
A page holds 24 listings.
6. Changes
If the ordering changes in the code, this page changes with it. It is part of the mandatory information under § 5b(2) UWG and Art. 27 DSA.
